SUMMARY:In-House Seminar by Abhinav Surya
DESCRIPTION:On March 12, 2025, Abhinav Surya, PhD scholar at the Centre for Development Studies, Thiruvananthapuram and a collaborator of the Foundation, presented his study titled, “Technical and Technological Progress in Small and Medium Manufacturing Industries in India” in an in-house seminar organised by the Foundation.\nAbhinav’s study examines the evolving organisation of production in India’s SMEs, focusing on technological progress, capital accumulation, contractualisation and the labour processes in the last two decades.\nThe seminar was conducted in a hybrid mode. Abhinav presented the findings online, which was well attended by participants at the Foundation’s office and online.\nThe presentation was followed by an in-depth and engaging Q&A session, where participants critically examined the themes and findings of the papers.
