SUMMARY:FAS Team at DialogueNEXT India
DESCRIPTION:\nMadhura Swaminathan, Trustee of the Foundation for Agrarian Studies; Sandipan Baksi, Director; and Rebecca Rose Varghese, Coordinator (Communication and Events), participated in DialogueNEXT India, held on September 8–9, 2025, at the ICAR Convention Center.\nOrganised by the World Food Prize Foundation in partnership with the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT), the Borlaug Institute for South Asia (BISA), and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), DialogueNEXT India brought together farmers, researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders to deliberate on practical solutions for food and agriculture, foster collaboration, and advance human development through food security. The convention also sought to carry forward Dr. Norman Borlaug’s legacy by identifying the next steps in the global effort to alleviate hunger.\nAs a Member of the World Food Prize Foundation Council of Advisors, Professor Madhura welcomed guests, speakers, and delegates from across the world to the event. In the panel discussions, she reflected on the future of preserving the legacies of agricultural pioneers. In her closing remarks, she emphasised that “Food and water must never be allowed to become weapons of war.”\nHere are glimpses from the event…\n\n \n #gallery-1 {\n margin: auto;\n }\n #gallery-1 .gallery-item {\n float: left;\n margin-top: 10px;\n text-align: center;\n width: 50%;\n }\n #gallery-1 img {\n border: 2px solid #cfcfcf;\n }\n #gallery-1 .gallery-caption {\n margin-left: 0;\n }\n /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n\n
