FAS team at ISEC
Arindam Das, Joint-Director of the Foundation; Sethu C. A., Senior Research Assistant at FAS; and Sai Chandan Kotu, Research Assistant at FAS, participated in the 65th Annual Conference of the Indian Society of Labour Economics (ISLE) held from January 9–11, 2025. The conference was organised by the Institute for Social and Economic Change (ISEC), Bengaluru, in collaboration with the Department of Labour, Government of Karnataka, at the ISEC Campus.
The event welcomed academicians, professionals, development practitioners, civil society members, and others interested in labour, employment, and development issues.
Three papers were presented at the conference by the FAS team members.
1. “Accounting for Wage Inequality in India: 1983 to 2021-22”- Arindam Das.
2. “Deepening Distress in India’s Informal Economy: An Analysis of Own Account Enterprises,” – Sai Chandan Kotu, C.A. Sethu and Kulvinder Singh, Research Associate, Centre for Economic Data and Analysis, Ashoka University.
3. “Farm Technology and Agrarian Inequalities: A Longitudinal Study of a Western Uttar Pradesh Village” – Tapas S. Modak, Sai Chandan Kotu and Sandipan Baksi.
