Session 5B on Day 3 (November 8, 2025) of the International Conference on Agrarian Change was chaired by John Harriss (Professor of International Studies, Simon Fraser University, Canada). Speakers included Deepa Kurup (PhD Candidate, Oxford Department of International Development), Paramjit Singh (Assistant Professor, Punjab University), Aishwarya Prakash (PhD Scholar, Centre for Development Studies), Anjana Kesav (PhD Scholar, Centre for Development Studies), and Ashwin Subramanian (PhD Candidate, Harvard University).

The session discussed social programmes and class struggle, class dynamics of accumulation, inclusion in farmer-producer companies, structural agrarian vulnerability, and contract farming.
