About FAS: The Foundation for Agrarian Studies (FAS) is a charitable trust established in 2003 and based in Bangalore, India. It is engaged in field-based research on agrarian issues. The major objective of the Foundation is to facilitate multi-disciplinary theoretical and empirical research in the field of agrarian studies in India and other less-developed countries. The employee strength of the Foundation is around 15-20.

Position: Research Assistant
Joining Date: As soon as possible
Duration: 4 months (may be extended based on work requirements and performance)
Purpose: FAS invites applications for the position of Research Assistant under the Project on Agrarian Relations in India
Tasks:
- Assistance in preparing for field work in Andhra Pradesh, and coordinating for all survey-related activities, including administrative and logistical work
- Assistance in conducting fieldwork in Andhra Pradesh
- Assistance with data analysis and report writing
- Documentation of project activities
Essential requirements
- Master’s degree in Economics, Sociology, Public Policy, Development Studies, or a related field
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Telugu
- Strong coordination and organisational skills
- Experience in managing events
- Readiness to travel to rural areas
Desirable qualifications
- Academic interest/experience in studying rural areas
Emoluments: As per industry standards
