#FASSTA | Science and Technology in Agriculture in India: A Lecture Series
It is evident that the application of modern science, particularly chemistry and biology, in production has been the major force in transforming India from a “begging bowl to bread basket.” These developments undoubtedly changed the position of India globally, in terms of food security and sovereignty, as well as in terms of the capacity for creating new knowledge and technology and utilizing it for production. In order to explore these aspects more, FAS organized a Lecture Series on ‘Science and Technology in Agriculture in India’ (#FASSTA).
Our 4-week free #FASSTA Series featured four informative sessions. #FASSTA brought together eminent agricultural scientists and researchers such as Dr Rajendra Prasad, Dr K C Bansal, Dr Himanshu Pathak, and Dr C N Neeraja who covered a range of topics including seed science, transgenic and CRISPR technology, abiotic stress management, food and nutrition security, and biofortification!
