Session 5C on Day 3 (November 8, 2025) of the International Conference on Agrarian Change was chaired by Gopinath Ravindran (Professor, Department of History and Culture, Faculty of Humanities and Languages, Jamia Millia Islamia). Speakers included Athmanathan Indrajith (PhD Candidate, Centre Walras Pareto, University of Lausanne), Praveen Verma (Assistant Professor, Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi), and Sakshi Gupta (Graduate Student, Kyoto University, Graduate School of Economics).

The session focused on colonial and post-colonial discourses, agrarian identity, and how Alternative Proteins are shaping Japan’s food systems.
