About FAS: The Foundation for Agrarian Studies (FAS) is a charitable trust established in 2003 and based in Bangalore, India. It is engaged in field-based research on agrarian issues. The major objective of the Foundation is to facilitate multi-disciplinary theoretical and empirical research in the field of agrarian studies in India and other less-developed countries. The employee strength of the Foundation is around 12-15.

Work Location: 677, First Floor, 9th A Main Road, Indiranagar 1st Stage, Bengaluru 560038.

Position: Research Assistant

Duration: Two years

Purpose: FAS invites applications for the position of Research Assistant for a new research project titled “The Dynamics of Agricultural Innovation in South India” in collaboration with Monash University, Australia. The research focuses on the adoption and impact of agricultural innovation in South India.

Tasks:

  • Systematic review of literature
  • Assistance in conducting qualitative interviews with various stakeholders
  • Assistance with data analysis and report writing.
  • Documentation of project activities
  • Assistance in coordinating all project related events
  • Travel to different regions of India for project activities

Essential requirements

  • BSc. or MSc. in Agricultural Science or related fields  
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following languages: Marathi, Telugu, Kannada and Tamil
  • Strong coordination and organisational skill
  • Experience in managing events

Emoluments: Starting from INR 50,000 (actual will be based on work experience and performance in the selection procedure)
