About FAS: The Foundation for Agrarian Studies (FAS) is a charitable trust established in 2003 and based in Bangalore, India. The major objective of the Foundation is to facilitate multi-disciplinary theoretical and empirical research in the field of agrarian studies in India and other less-developed countries. The employee strength of the Foundation is around 12–15.

Position: Research Officer

Joining Date: Immediate

Duration: Two years (extendable by one year based on performance)

Purpose: FAS invites applications for an immediate position of Research Officer for a new research project titled “The Dynamics of Agricultural Innovation in North India,” developed in collaboration with Monash University, Australia. The research focuses on the adoption and impact of agricultural innovations in North India. 

The position is ideal for a candidate interested in the development of agricultural science and technology and its spread in the Indian countryside in the last two decades. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work with an excellent network of national and international research partners and may use this opportunity to later develop their PhD research related to this field. 

Tasks: 

  • Documenting project activities
  • Coordinating project-related meetings and events
  • Assisting in coordinating with various project partners
  • Travelling to different regions of India for data collection
  • Conducting review of literature
  • Assisting in data analysis and report writing

Essential Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Agricultural Economics, Development Economics, or related fields
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills 
  • Strong coordination and organisational skill
  • Experience in managing events
  • Hands-on experience in Office tools

Emoluments: As per industry standards.
