In-House Seminar on Farm Mechanisation in Bihar
Sai Chandan Kotu, Masters Student at Lund University, Sweden, presented a seminar titled “Ownership and Use of Machines: The Case of Bihar,” at the Foundation’s office on Thursday, April 27, 2023.
Sai presented insights gathered from his analysis of data from various secondary sources such as All India Debt and Investment Survey (AIDIS) and Input Use Survey. Sai also used the data gathered by the Foundation from the villages, Katkuian and Nayanagar, as part of its Project on Agrarian Relations in India. The presentation focused on identifying the implications of use and ownership of machinery for different socio-economic classes of farming households.
The seminar was attended by Aaliya Sehar, Arindam Das, Komal Singh Chauhan, Rakesh Kumar Mahato, Sandipan Baksi, Sethu C A, Sujan N and Tapas Singh Modak at the Foundation’s office, while Madhura Swaminathan took part in the seminar virtually.
