Kunal Munjal, Junior Research Fellow, ISI Bangalore, presented a seminar titled “Agricultural Commodity Production and Exchange: Insights from a Rapid Survey in Bijnor, Western Uttar Pradesh,” at the Foundation’s office on Monday, January 16, 2023.

Kunal’s presentation covered insights generated from his field visit to Western UP (particularly Harevli village, previously surveyed by FAS) to conduct a mapping of marketing channels of output produce of respective commodities. In his presentation, he showed how and where different trade intermediaries are situated in the respective commodity value chain and their strategies for bargaining to exchange agricultural commodity products with farmers.

The seminar was attended by Arindam Das, Sai Chandan Kotu, Sandipan Baksi, Soham Bhattacharya, Sethu C A, Sujan N at the Foundation’s office, while Mrityunjay Pandey, Ritam Dutta, and VK Ramachandran took part virtually.
