PARI Survey: FAS Team Revisits West Godavari

 

The Foundation for Agrarian Studies (FAS) team visited Undi Mandal, West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh, from August 3–7, 2026, for a follow-up fieldwork in Yendagandi and Panduvva. The team consisted of V.K. Ramachandran, Managing Trustee at the Foundation; Arindam Das, Joint Director; Sai Chandan Kotu, Senior Research Assistant; Ruthu C. A., Research Officer; and Kanuganti Vyshnavi, Research Assistant.

The team also gathered information on aquaculture practices and standards through interviews with large-scale aquaculture farmers, as well as information on irrigation systems and government schemes. The team also interviewed Assamese long-term migrant workers engaged in aquaculture-related work.

The team met with the District Planning Officer, Mandal Planning Officer, and Assistant Engineer of the Irrigation Department of the region to gather information on government schemes and irrigation systems. Field visits to Yendagandi and Panduvva were conducted with irrigation department officials to understand the local irrigation system.

The team also completed the village-level questionnaires for both villages at their respective Panchayat offices.
