The Foundation for Agrarian Studies heartily congratulates Dr. Vijoo Krishnan on being elected as the General Secretary of the All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) at its 35th All India Conference. He is the youngest person in the past sixty years to hold this position.

The slogan from the Conference, attended by members of the Foundation for Agrarian Studies, was “Struggle, Consolidate, Advance for an Alternative.” Accepting the honour, Vijoo Krishnan concluded his initial message with the words “Unity of peasants and workers is critical for the struggles that await us in the future.”
FAS has had the pleasure of working closely with Vijoo Krishnan on a number of issues concerning agrarian relations in India. He was an early recipient of a Senior Ph.D. Scholarship offered by the Foundation, and was later part of an FAS delegation that visited different agricultural regions in China.
At the Foundation, we are delighted to congratulate Vijoo Krishnan on this well-deserved honour and wish him all the best for his new role.
Sudha is an Administrative Assistant of the Foundation. She assists the administrative division of the Foundation and also has taken part in fieldwork organised by the Foundation.
